摘要: デクスメデトミジンの特徴は, ｢呼吸に及ぼす影響はほとんどなく, 鎮痛作用も有した鎮静薬｣ , ｢呼べばすぐ起きるが刺激がないと眠っている｣ である. これは理想的な鎮静薬にほかならない. しかし実際に投与してみると血圧変動や効果の個体差があまりに大きく, ｢使いづらい鎮静薬｣ との印象をもたれがちである. しかし, これらはデクスメデトミジンの薬理学的特徴を理解し薬物動態学的アプローチによる解析を行うことで, その原因の推測・対処が容易となる. 本稿では, デクスメデトミジン投与による不都合の原因と対処法を呈示し, 理想的特徴のみを利用する手法を解説する.
