摘要: Abstract Sex and need for affiliation (n Aff) were investigated as potential moderators of the association between achievement Ach) academic performance. Measures n Ach Aff, based on Personality Research form, obtained or 78 male 114 female grade 11 students. On assumption a conflict it was hypothesized that high Ach, low Aff students earn higher grades than Afh, The results both males females supported hypothesis. Evidence available which suggested poorer performance due to an inability maintain effectively their attention while studying. also indicated that, relative other students, displayed markedly superior orientation. Attention drawn fact formance girls appears incconsistent with some current theorizing regarding orientation females.
