摘要: Hypothesis The deltoid muscle is in continuity with the distal arm fascia and musculature. Materials methods Ten fresh-frozen upper extremity cadaveric specimens were dissected to determine insertional anatomy of muscle. Measurements made micro-calipers acetate grid sheets. tendon fibrous aponeurosis was lateral intermuscular septum posteriorly aspect brachialis deep brachial anteriorly all ten specimens. This interconnection remained following complete release insertion. Results width insertion anterior head a mean 7.3 mm, middle averaged 4.7 posterior 7.8 mm. length 70 48.4 63.4 investing at superior margin 21.9 mm inferior 13.1 Discussion Deltoid integrity critical shoulder function. insertion, however, often partially released during surgical approaches for internal fixation proximal humerus fractures arthroplasty. Partial detachment without repair as performed should not result loss Conclusion Knowledge interconnections allows more anatomic extended releases complex fracture or revision surgery. Level evidence Basic science study.
