摘要: Leishmaniases are diseases caused by protozoan parasites of the genus Leishmania. They endemic in 98 countries, affect around 12 million people worldwide and may present several distinct clinical forms. Unfortunately, there only a few drugs available for treatment leishmaniasis, which toxic not always effective. Different parasite species different forms require optimization or more specific therapies, available. The emergence resistance is also matter concern. Besides, diagnosis can sometimes be complicated due to atypical manifestations associations with other pathologies. In this review, proteomic data presented discussed terms their application important issues leishmaniasis such as chemotherapy, active disease patients dogs, markers forms, identification virulence factors, potential use vaccination. It shown that proteomics has contributed discovery biomarkers prognosis, diagnosis, therapeutics, monitoring progression, follow-up vaccine candidates diseases. However, authors believe its capabilities have yet been fully explored routine analysis reasons, will review.
