摘要: Abstract In this work, the bioactive glass 45S5 (also known by its commercial name Bioglass®) was successfully dip-coated a natural derived biopolymer, increasing apatite-forming ability. The biopolymer shown to accelerate first stages of bioactivity, inducing fast transition step 4 (formation amorphous Ca P layer) in ability mechanism. faster precipitation Ca/P crystals coated samples resulted formation an intermediate octacalcium phosphate, which later transforms into apatite layer with high thickness. effect thickness coating also studied on polymer suspensions different concentrations (0.15% and 1.5%, w/v), revealing that kinetics final hydroxycarbonate increases coating. mechanism is accelerated investigated, certain functional groups present structure allow it act as organic matrix preferential nucleation site for growth layer.
