摘要: Systems view thinking and holistic urban water cycle concepts are increasingly called upon for integrated analysis of systems to mitigate stress in large agglomerations. However, is frequently not applied due the inherent complexity, limitations data availability especially lack guidelines suitable software tools. The paper presents application total balance model UVQ City San Luis Potosi (1.2 Mio inhabitants) under arid conditions Northern Mexico. a lumped parameter which describes contaminant flows from source sink areas includes all types such as rainwater, imported water, surface runoff, wastewater groundwater. results were useful spatially explicit groundwater recharge calculation areas. A range scenarios, including different supply strategies effect externalities demand change, simulated compared calibrated baseline scenario. demonstrated that shallow resources can substantially problems scarcity overexploitation deep aquifers if appropriate quality protection or fit-for-use paradigms put into place. modelling exercise delivers relevant information decision making process identifies most shortcomings current monitoring systems. This represents key step on path sensitive sustainable development, have been neglected management policy cities Mexican zone.
