摘要: BACKGROUND Camels are important in the racing industry and for milk, meat, hair production Middle East. Evaluation of synovial fluid is an part assessment musculoskeletal injuries this species. Information literature regarding camels limited. OBJECTIVES The objective study was to determine protein cellular composition from tarsal joints clinically normal, young (Camelus dromedarius). METHODS Thirty healthy, male camels, aged 9 12 months, were used study. Synovial samples collected right left joints. Samples processed within 60 minutes after collection. Total nucleated cell counts (TNCC) assessed using a hemacytometer. concentration determined refractometer. RESULTS Forty-six analyzed. TNCC (mean +/- SD) 175.8 136.7 cells/microL (range 50-678 cells/microL). Differential percentages obtained lymphocytes (58.2 21.55%, range 15-90%), monocyte/macrophages (38.3 20.8%, 10-85%), neutrophils (3.5 5.1%, 0-15%). Protein 2.1 0.6 g/dL 1-3 g/dL). Significant differences not observed any parameters between CONCLUSION reference values established may be useful clinical investigation joint disease camels.
