摘要: Abstract Magnetically controlled shunt reactors (MCSRs) are key elements of extra-high voltage/ultra-high voltage (EHV/UHV) transmission systems for reactive power compensation and overvoltage suppression. Owing to the special core structure winding connection mode, there is a complex electromagnetic relationship between faulty non-faulty windings, which makes it challenging accurately identify turn-to-turn fault, most common type MCSR fault. To overcome this problem, novel protection scheme proposed by combining start-up criterion with fault discrimination criterion. The based on fundamental component total control current (itc) identification equivalent leakage inductance (ELI). Firstly, circuit power, control, corresponding ELI model derived solved using recursive least squares (RLS) method. Subsequently, difference among three-phase ELIs. Finally, verified through simulations in MATLAB/Simulink experiments physical model. overcomes limited sensitivity reliability conventional methods can locate great significance promotion MCSRs their applications engineering.
