摘要: Background & objectives: The two major genotypic markers that distinguish community acquired (CA) from hospital (HA) methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) isolates are the architecture of mobile genetic element (SCCmec type) and presence panton valentine leukocidin (PVL) toxin. This study was conducted to determine molecular characteristics CA- HA- MRSA sensitive S. (MSSA) in Sikkim. Methods: A total 150 clinical isolated various specimens were subjected duplex (mec-A pvl gene) multiplex typing) PCR. Results: Of isolates, 53 (35.33%) 66 (44%) positive for mec-A genes, respectively. Thirty eight (25.33%) met definition CA-MRSA 15 (10%) HA-MRSA remaining 63 (42%) 34 (22.66%) as HA-MSSA, No significant difference seen distribution PVL toxin MSSA but it significantly (P Interpretation conclusions: present results show SCCmec type V has been on rise, such gene detection used differentiation these clinically distinct may not be reliable.
