摘要: Multiple organ dysfunction syndrome (MODS) continues to be a source of excessive morbidity and mortality in the critically ill population [1]. While pathogenesis MODS remains fully elucidated, popular approach explain its development is ‘gut origin’ theory. This proposes that variety local and/or systemic insults result depression intestine’s physiological function, specifically loss protective barrier function [2]. leads increased translocation, passage viable bacteria endotoxin across intestinal epithelium mesenteric lymph nodes portal blood [3]. Such gut-derived or could then trigger, exaggerate, perpetuate inflammatory response occurs MODS. It this concept has prompted some refer gut as ‘motor’ [4].
