摘要: BACKGROUND Cases of adult T-cell leukemia/lymphoma (ATLL) resulting from human leukemia virus type I (HTLV-I) have been observed mainly in the southern part Japan. Recently, authors performed a second examination cutaneous, muscle, and nerve biopsy specimens French white woman who died ATLL 1979. METHODS A 67-year-old had lymphoma diagnosed on lymph node biopsy. She then acute pains thickened skin both legs. Blood showed leukocyte count 16,000/ml with 75% T-cells. Biopsies were antero-external surface right leg. after 2 years illness. RESULTS Lymphomatous infiltrates origin seen dermis, between muscle fibers, peripheral nerve. The recent ultrastructural few vacuoles located cytoplasm certain lymphomatous cells rounded structures mixed larger virus-like formations having central nucleoid spike material around envelope. Polymerase chain reaction experiments deparaffinized sections demonstrated presence tax sequence homologous to that HTLV-I. Other structural genes not detected. CONCLUSIONS These results contrast other studies which HTLV-I was detected only cultivation patients ATLL. This case probably resulted an variant.
