摘要: Wireless capsule endoscopy (WCE) has emerged as an important diagnostic tool for the evaluation of patients with suspected small intestinal (SI) disease, including obscure gastrointestinal bleeding, Crohn's disease (CD), malabsorptive disorders and SI tumors. Since a great number CD have small-bowel (SB) involvement, it is newly diagnosed to undergo SB, which traditionally been performed using radiographic study such SB follow-through. The greatest utility WCE in observed cases CD, where initial upper lower well traditional techniques failed establish diagnosis. can detect involvement particularly early lesions that be overlooked by radiological studies. sensitivity diagnosing superior other endoscopic or methods push enteroscopy, computed tomography magnetic resonance enteroclysis. known indeterminate colitis select group ulcerative help better define diagnosis extent assist management persistent symptoms. A disadvantage device may retained strictured area often present addition specificity. replace classical studies become gold standard suspected, absence strictures fistulae.
