摘要: Three major epidemics of Newcastle disease (ND) occurred in Taiwan over the past three decades (in 1969, 1984, and 1995). In order to gain a better understanding relationships between ND epizootics Taiwan, 36 viruses (NDVs) isolated 1969 1996 were characterized antigenically genotypically. The antigenicity these was analysed by their ability cause binding mouse monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) cell cultures infected with isolate. Using panel 22 mAbs divide NDVs into subgroups, total 18 patterns revealed. sequences covering cleavage site fusion protein gene isolates also determined. results phylogenetic analysis placed I, II, VIb, VIIa, VIII two novel genotypes (provisionally termed X VIh). velogenic VIh; 1984–1985 genotyped VIh, X; while 1995–1996 VIIa or VIII. Some 1984 same pattern genotype, have not been seen before. It is concluded that different genotype antigenic type co-circulated at least since 1969. Also there epizootiological links strains whereas epidemic caused new variants. # 2004 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
