摘要: Lens epithelial cells undergo epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) after injury as in cataract extraction, leading to fibrosis of the lens capsule. We have previously shown that EMT primary vitro depends on TGF-beta expression and more specifically, signaling via Smad3. In this report, we suggest phosphatidylinositol 3-OH kinase (PI3K)/Akt is also necessary for TGF-beta-induced by showing LY294002, an inhibitor p110 catalytic subunit PI3K, blocked alpha-smooth muscle actin (alpha-SMA) morphological changes. identify Snail effector EMT. has been be a mediator during metastasis cancer. show immediate-early response gene proximal promoter activated through action Smad2, 3, 4. antisense inhibition blocks furthermore Akt activation. All these findings participates acting upstream
