摘要: Lichens are recognized as biological indicators of environmental pollution and also biomonitors air quality due to their response capacity when exposed polluted environments especially toxic gases such sulfur dioxide (SO2) carbon (CO2) heavy metals fluorides ozone nitrogen oxides peroxyacetyl nitrate. This work evaluated the concentration in Santa Maria city using lichen kind Usnea biomarker. Extracts including substrates were collected an area without influence pollutants regions with intense automotive traffic. procedure was repeated throughout four seasons one year. After each exposure analysis accumulated done turbidimetric technique. The sp species showed be good for monitoring atmospheric dioxide. In spite fuels commercialized today show low increase number vehicles urban center contributes significantly high air.
