摘要: Background/Aims: Nesfatin-1, processed from nucleobindin-2 (NUCB2), is a potent anorexigenic peptide being expressed in rodent hypothalamic nuclei and involved the regulation of feeding behavior body weight animals. The present study aimed to investigate NUCB2/nesfatin-1 protein expression human hypothalamus as well its correlation with weight. Methods: Sections adjacent cholinergic basal forebrain nuclei, including nucleus basalis Meynert (NBM) diagonal band Broca (DBB), 25 autopsy cases (17 males, 8 females; lean, 9 overweight, obese) were examined using immunohistochemistry double immunofluorescence labeling. Results: Prominent immunoexpression was detected supraoptic, paraventricular, infundibular lateral area (LHA)/perifornical region, NBM/DBB. found extensively colocalize (a) oxytocin vasopressin paraventricular supraoptic (b) melanin-concentrating hormone LHA, (c) cocaine- amphetamine-regulated transcript LHA. Interestingly, significantly decreased obese, compared lean (p < 0.01) overweight 0.05) subjects. Conclusions: findings are suggestive potential role for an integral regulator food intake energy homeostasis hypothalamus. In appetite- reward-related brain area, reduced may contribute dysregulation homeostatic and/or hedonic obesity. localization NBM/DBB might imply participation neuronal circuitry controlling cognitive influences on give impetus towards unraveling additional biological actions networks.
