摘要: Abstract Unsteady creep behavior of a metal matrix composite has been studied by analyzing the evolution ‘back stress’ (volume-averaged internal stress) during concurrent processes and diffusive mass transport along matrix-reinforcement interfaces. The is assumed to obey power law with stress exponent 3. Analytical expressions are obtained not only for variation in rate time on loading but also time-dependent strain be recovered when applied load completely removed. Some numerical results presented illustrate features analysis. A modification made incorporating threshold creep, whereby possible reasoning suggested ‘anomalously high’ apparent exponents experimental data composites.
