摘要: Previous animal studies have shown that certain modes of mechanical ventilation (MV) can injure the lungs. Most those were performed with models differ from clinical causes respiratory failure. We examined effects positive end-expiratory pressure (PEEP) in setting a clinically relevant, vivo model sepsis-induced acute lung injury ventilated low or injurious tidal volume. Septic male Sprague-Dawley rats anesthetized and randomized to spontaneous breathing four different strategies MV for 3 h at (6 ml/kg) high (20 ml/kg) volume (VT) zero PEEP above inflection point pressure-volume curve. Sepsis was induced by cecal ligation perforation. Mortality rates, pathological evaluation, tissue cytokine gene expression, plasma concentrations analyzed all experimental groups. Lung damage, synthesis release, mortality rates significantly affected method presence sepsis. attenuated damage decreased during VT (25% vs. 0%) increased group (19% 50%). expression VT. The use level modulates pulmonary systemic inflammatory responses associated sepsis decreases MV.
