摘要: Abstract Many rivers in the Yangtze River basin have suffered from excess nitrogen due to increased human activities recent decades. Soil denitrification riparian wetlands is a key process for removing polluted surface runoff and controlling eutrophication river ecosystems. Currently, little known about influence of topography land use on characteristics basin. In this study, we used acetylene block technique determine spatial variability soil potential unamended dentrification rates 42 Han China. The results indicated that soils showed great variation denitrification, most measured physical chemical properties. Both were positively associated with moisture, percentage fine substrate, organic matter contents, but negatively related pH bulk density. Agricultural had higher than forested soils. Spearman correlation analysis also topographic factor (i.e., elevation) negative effect rates. Our suggest both can indirectly wetlands. Low-elevation areas agricultural zone are good candidates wetland restoration or creation removal water quality improvement
