摘要: Abstract There are several areas with high wind energy potential in Greece. The Thrace region is one of the least explored concerning this potential. This paper presents results a preliminary evaluation Eastern Macedonia — Thrace/Greece resource. For purpose, measurements from two local weather stations were obtained and supplementary meteorological mast was installed at selected location. availability such data sufficient, WAsP model used to evaluate them. Several sites, appropriate for conversion system (WECS) installations, investigated. A method evaluating economic feasibility required private investments on WECS installations presented. Such privately owned generation systems may or not operate parallel large scale network, thus produced by it either provided meet load needs transmitted external grid system. also assesses non-financial attributes, typically associated implementation as local/national environmental socio-economic impacts. general computer program has been developed, aiming become flexible computational tool investigating possible sites takes into account specific technoeconomical constraints pertaining Greek reality following latest national development laws applicable production entrepreneurs electrical renewable sources, which sold Public Power Corporation (P.P.C.). To make good use program, case industry geographical area thoroughly analyzed, pertinent
