摘要: During development within the host erythrocyte malaria parasites generate nascent membranous structures which serve as a pathway for parasite protein transport to modify cell. The molecular basis of such is not well understood, particularly other than Plasmodium falciparum. To characterize structural trafficking in knowlesi-infected erythrocyte, we identified P. knowlesi ortholog MAHRP2, marker tether structure that connects falciparum-infected erythrocyte. We show PkMAHRP2 localizes on amorphous connect Sinton Mulligan's clefts (SMC) each and membrane. Three dimensional reconstruction revealed SMC plate-like with swollen ends, reminiscent morphology Golgi apparatus. PkMAHRP2-localized are possibly functionally equivalent falciparum structure. These findings suggest conservation ultrastructure between knowlesi.
