摘要: Abstract Efficient and accurate estrus detection is a key management factor determining acceptable reproductive performance in dairy herds. Previous studies have shown that dogs can differentiate between vaginal mucus samples of cows diestrus with an accuracy 40.3% 97.0%. We set out (1) to develop specific training protocol for identify from the feed alley (2) determine sensitivity specificity trained detect estrus. Six were by means positive reinforcement following protocol. Four those participated final test after average time 50 h per dog. Overall, they correctly identified as being 23 32 cases (i.e. 71.9%) falsely classified negative nine (28.1% type II errors). Out 128 119 true 93.0%) (7.0% I Further research warranted optimized allows practical use within appropriate time.
