摘要: In a previous study, one of the authors (C.C.B.) found isolated sleep paralysis was common in blacks. this conducted by interviews, recurrent pattern (one or more episodes per month) blacks described at least 25 percent afflicted sample studied. Frequent were associated with stress, and subjects had an unusually high prevalence panic disorder (15.5 percent). The genetic transmission studied large black family, addition to stressful environmental factors being condition, there appears be dominant factor predisposition for developing paralysis. implications these findings anxiety, sleep, psychophysiologic disorders are discussed.
