摘要: The direct carbon fuel cell (DCFC) is a promising power-generation device that has much higher efficiency (80%) and less emissions than conventional coal-fired power plants. Two commercial carbons (activated black) pre-treated with HNO3, HCl or air plasma are tested in DCFC. correlation between the surface properties electrochemical performance of fuels explored. HNO3-treated have highest reactivity DCFC due to largest degree oxygen functional groups. overall effect on changing orderHNO3 > plasma≈HCl. Product gas analysis indicates thatcomplete oxidation CO2 can be achieved at 600–700 ◦C.
