摘要: This paper begins by reviewing the empirical studies that have examined correlation between income and self-reported happiness. While scholarly debate is far from settled, weight of evidence suggests once people their basic material needs adequately met, happiness quickly to fade. has been called ‘income-happiness paradox,’ because it contradicts widely held assumption more economic growth will always contribute positively human wellbeing. After literature, analysis proceeds consider various explanations for this so-called ‘paradox,’ also considers what implications paradox might nations are arguably overconsuming. The concludes outlining be an ‘economics sufficiency.’
