摘要: To establish the indications for primary prophylaxis against toxoplasmic encephalitis in Norwegian HIV-positive population, we estimated incidence of encephalitis, and related degree immunodeficiency presence IgG antibodies Toxoplasma gondii (T. gondii) to development encephalitis. This retrospective study includes all patients at our hospital from April 1983 October 1994 (n = 705). A total 238 had AIDS, which represents almost 90% AIDS Oslo. Autopsy was done over 70% who died during this period; 19 developed (8.0%). The median CD4 cell count 75 x 10(6) cell/I (range 0-280) time diagnosis T. serology studied 698 (99.0%) patients, found positive 17.8%. Of with 18/19 40 anti-T. IgG, 18 (45%) We conclude that there is indication prophylactic treatment HIV have fewer than 200 cells/I.
