摘要: Publisher Summary This chapter discusses that progressive image transmission (PIT) involves the gradual improvement in quality of an as more information is transmitted. In recent years, PIT has been proposed a means providing user with interpretable soon possible specific situation where he/she interactively interrogating database over low capacity channel—such public switched telephone network (PSTN). allows to decide whether wait for detailed reconstruction, or abort transmission. The describes two schemes combine JPEG and segmented coding (SIC) Compared JPEG-based schemes, new produce reconstructed images better during all stages transmission, never transmit bits. Also, computational complexity lower than SIC-only approach.
