摘要: Although good quality DNA can be recovered from the base of calamus freshly sampled feathers, as other fully keratinized tissues such nail or hair shaft, and quantity in majority feather structures is much poorer. Little research has been performed to characterize this is, thus what a researcher might able achieve when using feathers source DNA. In review, we expand on our companion article detailing hair, by synthesizing published, new preliminary genetic data obtained feathers. As with demonstrate that although can, general, all parts feather, varies. such, one expect priori analyses are possible for PCR based analyses, it extremely difficult predict size amplicon used analyses. However, PCR-free exploit smaller fragments may promise powerful tool future exploitation.
