摘要: Peptide nucleic acid (PNA) is a DNA mimic having pseudopeptide backbone that makes it extremely stable in biological fluids. PNA binds complementary RNA and with high affinity specificity. These qualities make leading agent among "third generation" antisense antigene agents. Unfortunately, fast progress the exploration of as an experimental therapeutical regulator gene expression has been hampered by poor cellular uptake PNA. However, number transfection protocols for have now established. include microinjection, electroporation, co-transfection DNA, conjugation to lipophilic moieties, peptides, etc. Here we give short introduction basic findings on cell-free vitro systems. This followed comprehensive evaluation most interesting literature concerning delivery intracellular effect Also current regards using co-factor reviewed.
