摘要: We overview a sub-class of mathematical models lamellipodial cell motility on substrate (crawling) that are based projection complex intra-cellular dynamics into one dimension. Despite the unavoidable oversimplifications associated with such representation (loss flow continuity, neglect orientational order, misrepresentation volume control mechanisms, etc.), one-dimensional extremely helpful in elucidating individual roles three main active elements motility: contraction, protrusion and adhesion. Moreover, by shifting focus from shape to velocity, reveal an analytically transparent setting intricate interplay between these mechanisms involving cooperation competition.
