摘要: Micellar electrokinetic capillary electrophoresis has been used to examine characteristic organic gunpowder compounds, including nitroglycerin, diphenylamine, ethylcentralite, and others. The purpose of this project was develop MECE for implementation in gunshot residue casework. Studies were designed provide data evaluating casework samples. first study compared the results analysis residues (O-GSR) from firing range samples, SEM inorganic GSR (I-GSR). found detectable O-GSR each caliber weapon examined except .22 weapon. confirmed presence I-GSR selected samples where identified by MECE, as well vaporous lead sample. Repetitive experiments demonstrated that not deposited time same fired under conditions. This leads conclusion deposition mechanisms collection efficiency significantly effect outcome analyses. Another do persist more than an hour after (under conditions examined). Decomposition environmental exposure occurs at a rate is slow persistence, thus, value composition compromised short term exposure. However, since dependent changes occur, determinations cannot be made data. Finally, hands suspected shooters victims' clothing I-GSR, on some potentially valuable tool examination evidence compounds.
