Synthesis and properties of a nano-silica modified environmentally friendly polyurethane adhesive

摘要: In this study, a nano-SiO2 modified waterborne polyurethane (WPU) adhesive with remarkably low VOC content and high adhesion performance was successfully synthesized via in situ polymerization. The influence of nano-silica concentration on different properties the aqueous-based casted films carefully investigated. When range 2.0–2.5%, reached optimum. is about 2.0 wt%, appearance emulsion milky white blue light. T-peel shear strength nano-modified showed essential improvement compared pure-WPU adhesive. results failure temperature tests that thermo-tolerance higher than 175 °C. tensile strength, elongation at break water swelling were 21.3 MPa, 890% 2.7%, respectively. Finally, other water-based investigated using FTIR, SEM, molecular weight, pH, mean particle size solid measurements.
