Utilization of teledentistry as a tool to screen for dental caries among 12‐year‐old school children in a rural region of India

摘要: Objective The study aims to assess the reliability of video-graphic method as a tool screen dental caries among 12-year-old school children in rural region India. Methods A total 139 participated study. Visual tactile examinations were conducted using Decayed, Missing, and Filled Teeth (DMFT) index. Simultaneously, standardized video recording oral cavity was performed. Sensitivity specificity values calculated for assessment caries. Bland–Altman plot used agreement between two methods assessment. Likelihood ratio (LR) receiver-operating characteristic (ROC) curve predictive accuracy method. Results Mean DMFT population 2.47 ± 2.01 2.46 ± 1.91 by visual (P = 0.76; > 0.05). 0.86 0.58 established A fair degree noted with Intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) value 0.56. LR 2.05. confirmed level methods. The area under 0.69 (CI 0.57, 0.80, P = 0.001). Conclusion Teledentistry examination is comparable clinical when screening children. This provides evidence that teledentistry may be an alternative viable remote consultation treatment planning. Teledentistry offers change dynamics care delivery effectively bridge rural–urban health divide.
