摘要: Abstract Catch crop root growth and nitrogen (N) uptake from both shallow deeper soil layers are important for N management in arable farming systems, particularly climates where excess winter precipitation induces leaching. We simulated the biomass yield of three common catch crops [chicory (Cichorium intybus L.), fodder radish (Raphanus sativus L.) perennial ryegrass (Lolium perenne L.)] their effect on mineral (NO3− NH4+) different by using FASSET model. The results profile were validated against two years (2006 2007) observations taken Foulum Flakkebjerg, Denmark. Once model was validated, these leaching grain spring barley monoculture 30 years. Both measurements simulations showed that developed deepest system depleted than chicory ryegrass. Thirty with had a smaller amount 1 m depth other without crops. However, estimated total leached at 2 m smallest followed chicory, indicating capable taking also below depth. On average, to decrease 79% compared crops, resulting an average increase 2%. Chicory correspondingly contributed reducing depths 71 67% when crop. planted decreased 3 5%, respectively, probably because competition between cereal N, water light. Discontinuation use increased slightly not only but about 17%. Inclusion C content 16–46 kg N ha−1 year−1 170–498 kg C ha−1 year−1, as largest
