摘要: Potsherds from archaeological sites are usually found barren of palynomorphs. Recently half burnt potsherds an excavation site dated to 3320 ± 400 years BP 2080 80 in Gangetic West Bengal, India yielded some palynotaxa. That palynomorphs can remain preserved was experimentally proved with pots made mud mixed known pollen grains and burning for variable duration. Pots shorter duration showed recovery, while prolonged firing poor/no recovery. Present study suggests the use under-fired ancient as a reliable tool deciphering vegetation, climate, agriculture related parameters research.
