摘要: Summary Free amino acids, total methylated onium compounds (TMOC) and nitrogen were investigated in young old leaves of 22 mangrove species from Northern Queensland (Australia). Total ranged between 0.35 to 2.5% dry matter depending on leaf age species. The soluble accounted only a few cases for more than 10% the nitrogen. High proline accumulation was observed three species: Aegialitis annulata (28.5 mol · m-3 plant water), Xylocarpus granatum (76.0 pw) mekongensis (56.7 pw). latter two contained also hydroxyproline as major component acid fraction. GABA, GLU, ASP ALA most frequently occurring acids other Avicennia eucalyptifolia, marina, Hibiscus tiliaceus Heritiera littoralis accumulated high concentrations TMOC (up 107 while Acanthus ilicifolius stored both PRO. occurrence organic solutes mangroves is discussed comparison herbaceous halophytes.
