摘要: Research in developmental psychology suggests that children are poor tool innovators. However, such research often overlooks the ways which children's social and physical environments may lead to cross-cultural variation their opportunities proclivity innovate. In this paper, we examine contemporary hunter–gatherer child adolescent contributions innovation. We posit cultural subsistence context of many societies fosters behavioural flexibility, including innovative capabilities. Using ethnographic literature, suggest socialisation practices emphasised societies, learning through autonomous exploration, adult peer teaching, play innovation seeking bolster ability also discuss whether similar can be interpreted from archaeological record. end by pointing areas future study for understanding role adolescents development innovations across cultures past present.
