摘要: Various physical and chemical properties of surface subsurface regions Al can be improved by the formation transition metal intermetallic phases (AlxTMy) via coating (TM). The lower equilibrium solid solubility TM in (<1 at.%) is a steep barrier to solutions using conventional alloying methods. In contrast, as demonstrated present work, engineering laser-aided additive manufacturing approach effectively synthesize coatings on Al. focus work included development process control achieve thermodynamic kinetic conditions necessary for desirable physical, microstructural compositional attributes. A multiphysics finite element model was developed predict temperature profile, cooling rate, melt depth, dilution W matrix corresponding micro-hardness coating, interface between base material material.
