摘要: Morphogenesis involves the dynamic interplay of biochemical, mechanical, and electrical processes. Here, we ask to what extent can course morphogenesis be modulated controlled by an external electric field? We show that at a critical amplitude, field halt in Hydra regeneration. Moreover, above this lead reversal dynamics: fully developed folds back into its incipient spheroid morphology. The potential renew is reexposed when reduced amplitudes below criticality. These dynamics are accompanied modulations Wnt3 activity, central component head organizer Hydra. backward-forward cycle repeated several times, showing trajectory maintains integrity tissue regeneration capability. Each leads newly emerged body plan redeveloped folded tissue, which not necessarily similar one before process. Reversal shown triggered enhanced excitations leading intensified calcium activity. Folding body-plan morphology together with decay biosignaling system, indicate processes tightly integrated biochemical mechanical-structural play instructive role level direct developmental trajectories. fields calls for extending framework beyond program-like, forward-driven, hierarchical based on reaction diffusion positional information.
