摘要: PURPOSE To assess the ability of a novel multi-directional power toothbrush to control plaque and gingivitis when compared marketed sonic control. METHODS This was randomized controlled, examiner-blinded, parallel group, 8-week study at single center, in adult subjects with mild-to-moderate gingivitis. Pre-treatment levels coverage were evaluated baseline using Lobene Modified Gingival Index (MGI), Bleeding (GBI), Rustogi Navy Plaque (RMNPI). Qualified randomly assigned either wireless display (Oral-B Professional Deep Sweep + SmartGuide TRICLEAN 5000, also as Oral-B TriZone) or (Philips Sonicare FlexCare). After supervised brushing clinical site baseline, brushed unsupervised home twice daily according manufacturer instructions test brush standard sodium fluoride dentifrice. 8 weeks, recalled efficacy via MGI GBI RMNPI evaluations. RESULTS A total 128 evaluable completed study. weeks brushing, both toothbrushes provided statistically significant reductions mean whole mouth GBI, interproximal (approximal) sites (P < 0.001). The consistently produced significantly superior anti-gingivitis anti-plaque relative pre-treatment versus brush: Week adjusted 30% 29% greater for respectively 0.001); 44% 77% regions, = 0.003). Both well-tolerated.
