Understanding Choice of Information and Communication Channels in Knowledge Sharing

摘要: This study represents research-in-progress that investigates the factors motivating employee choice of information and communication channels for sharing knowledge. A pilot was conducted to determine what are available, employees actually use, why they employ those channels. Participants responded an online questionnaire. Preliminary results show have a wide variety available. Face-to-face, telephone, e-mail commonly used knowledge while Web 2.0 technologies remain underutilized. Channel appears be influenced by type shared, among other things. Based on extant literature practice-based research cross-boundary sharing, model is developed guide our future research.
