摘要: Abstract Akabane virus strain OBE-1 was inoculated intravenously into 29 pregnant sheep and their foetuses were delivered by hysterotomy at different stages of gestation. Foetuses infected to 36 days gestation developed a severe necrotizing meningo-encephalitis, the time birth 2 lambs had hydranencephaly arthrogryposis with scoliosis kyphosis. Histologically, cerebral displacement observed in 4 6 newborn lambs. 41 46 multifocal encephalitis cysts subcortical white matter; these lesions identified as porencephaly 5 8 Ependymal rosettes commonly found 81 91 focal necrobiosis gliosis matter 30 after inoculation. These histological findings suggest that infection directly responsible for encephalopathic differences between may be dependent on developmental foetus.
