摘要: The paper describes a bioluminescence detection lab-on-chip consisting of fiber-optic faceplate with immobilized luminescent reporters/probes that is directly coupled to an optical and processing CMOS system-on-chip (SoC) fabricated in 0.18-/spl mu/m process. customized for such applications as determining gene expression using reporter assays, intracellular ATP, sequencing DNA. SoC integrates 8 /spl times/ 16 pixel array having the same pitch assay site array, 128-channel 13-bit ADC, column-level DSP, image sensor chip capable detecting emission rates below 10/sup -6/ lux over 30 s integration time at room temperature. In addition coupling matching photodetector this low light achieved by number techniques, including use very dark current photodetectors, low-noise differential circuits, high-resolution analog-to-digital conversion, background subtraction, correlated multiple sampling, digitizations averaging reduce read noise. Electrical characterization results well preliminary biological testing are reported.
