摘要: A case study of the foreign cultures represented in two English language textbooks used by Hong Kong secondary schools was conducted. Its aim to investigate whether representation these reflected status as an international language. In order do this, references were categorized into four aspects: products, practices, perspectives, and persons. It found overall that favoured English-speaking countries, while Africa under-represented. The selection implications for redressing imbalance cultural content are discussed.
