The Design of KIVIEW: An Object-Oriented Browser.

摘要: KIVIEW is an object-oriented browsing interface to databases. The underlying internal model a semantic network, defined via collection of triplet facts which are governed by small set integrity requirements. KIVIEW's only ezternal structure display, called uiew, that presents all the information pertinent given object. features two kinds activity, nawgation and manipulation. Navigation exploration activity wherein user repeatedly displays new views objects referenced in current views. To speed up repetitive navigational tasks, otherwise could become very tedious, viewa inay be eynchronized: sets several viewa, linked cr tree-like structure, so when displayed root view modified, contents other change automatically. Manipulation processing operates on existing create virtual interleaved with navigation assemble located while into reeulte sessions. Using convenient graphic tools, these activities integrated single tool, flexible effective, yet simple use.
