摘要: Publisher Summary Muscimol, the enol-betaine of 5-aminomethyl-3-hydroxyisoxazole, has been isolated from mushrooms Amanita muscaria, stabiliformis, and Tricholoma muscarium. X-ray crystallographic studies have shown that muscimol is structurally related to inhibitory neurotransmitter γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA). Muscimol responsible for some central nervous system (CNS) effects these mushrooms. Administration animals alters CNS functions. Because its high affinity GABA receptors, used in ligand-binding aimed at characterizing such receptors. This chapter presents data obtained studies. [ 3 H]Muscimol binding sites, like H]GABA exist on synaptic extrasynaptic membranes. Studies with tissue cultures revealed presence neuronal (muscimol) receptors; therefore, H]muscimol can serve as markers because they are not bound glial membranes absence Na + . Culture models might be useful isolating
