摘要: Background: Many studies have found an association between sodium intake and blood pressure. Salt taste threshold is thought to be another marker of intake. Objective: This study sought assess two markers intake, 24-hour-urinary salt-taste threshold. We also determined the relationship these Methods: was measured by ability subjects discern salt in graded solutions saline. Twenty-four urinary flame photometry a 24-hour urine collection. Other plasma electrolytes creatinine were using standard automated chemistry methods. Results: There significantly higher as sodium/mmol hypertensive group, (36.6±20mmol/L/mmol creatinine) compared with normotensive group (14.8±5.8mmol/L/mmol p < 0.001. Urinary potassium subjects. When grouped into low high threshold, had 24 hour (30.3±5mmol/L vs STT (19.5±14 <.05). Conclusion: Sodium increased hypertension attesting risk factor for development Subjects excretion which may predispose them deveploment hypertension.
