摘要: 1. Experiments were carried out to investigate the mechanism whereby thermal stimul excite nerves produce pain from teeth. 2. Recordings have been made single fibres dissected inferior dental nerve in dogs during stimulation of lower canine tooth. 3. In preliminary experiments, no units found with thresholds close for man (45 and 27 degrees C) subsequently test stimuli 55 C, applied up 15 sec, 0-5 C used. 4. Of 117 tested, forty-three responded cooling but not heating nine cooling. 5. By applying direct saphenous cats, it was shown that these responses might due excitation specialized receptors. 6. Some electrical tooth pulp a latency which decreased abruptly at critical intensity as stimulus increased above threshold. Evidence obtained suggested this branching fibres.
