摘要: Toll-like receptors (TLRs) are key for the activation of immune responses directed against pathogens. Among more than 10 identified TLRs, TLR4 is most unique because it associates with a variety adaptor molecules ligand recognition and signal transduction. However, relationship between characteristics structural features poorly defined. In this study, we demonstrate novel biochemical characteristic TLR4. TLR4, but not other was observed as highly aggregated forms in immunoblotting. Interestingly, substitution transmembrane cytoplasmic domain those TLRs completely abolished aggregation Furthermore, found short hydrophobic region (HR) adjacent to TLR4; mutant lacking HR nonfunctional response lipopolysaccharide. These results suggest that may play critical role functional oligomerization
