摘要: Lean turbocharged operation with methanol was characterized using a single-cylinder spark, ignition engine. Efficiency, exhaust emissions, and combustion properties were measured over range of air/fuel ratios at two naturally-aspirated three conditions. When compared to stoichiometric, operation, the lean conditions improved efficiency while reducing carbon monoxide oxides nitrogen emissions. However, unburned fuel aldehyde emissions increased. If used in conjunction an oxidizing catalyst appropriate feedback controls, has potential improving performance three-way system.
